How the Commercial Customer Process Works for BidPoint Agents

I think you will find this post very informative and easy to understand. You will also see how very lucrative the commercial energy space is.

Before we get started, I want to give a short disclaimer that there are no guarantees of income. The following examples are for training purposes only.

So here’s how the process works…

Electric energy is measured in kilowatts. As a BidPoint agent, you are paid on USAGE not on savings, not on cost. This is great for the customer in the fact that we can give them a true, non biased quote through our patent pending bidding process helping the business choose a best pricing option. The example below will help you measure potential commissions on business energy usage. As an example, 1,000,000 kwh’s would pay you, the agent, approximately $1,250 based on BidPoint’s commission plan to it’s agents.

Slide04Based on the example above, below are some examples of what types of energy usage is consumed by different types of businesses. These are just estimates but can give you an idea of what types of businesses to focus on. The great news is that closing even small accounts over a period of time can seriously add up.

For example, based on the commission structure for BidPoint agents above, if you were the originator of the deal that closed the school that was doing 2,000,000 kwh’s per year, you can see from the example below that it would be a great supplement to your income on an annual basis.

Another great example would be if  you were the originator of the large church. Based on the examples above, that would pay out approximately $9,100 annually in residual income for that one facility.

And the last example below is obviously a very large account and uses a tremendous amount of energy but it’s still nice to see what types of accounts are in the market and can be bid on. This hospital example uses 40,000,000 kwh’s annually. The commission on that to the person who originated and closed the deal would be approximately $50,000 annually.

So what is the process that BidPoint agents go through to gather, submit and close energy customers? Let me break it down in a few easy steps.

Step #1 is to use our recommended ‘8 second’ question to create curiosity to the customer. Below you can see the question. It’s worked for thousands of people.

Step #2, If the business says yes, is for you to gather a few items. The first thing needed will be copies of their bills. We recommend the last 3 months billing statements so that we have a more consistent average of usage. The other item needed will be an LOA or Letter of Authorization.

Step #3 is submitting the information through your BidPoint back office for a RFP or Request for Pricing to Avion Energy.

Step #4  is really where the magic happens. Avion Energy then uses their patent pending real time bidding portal to utilize their network contracts with the biggest and best energy suppliers nation wide. Those suppliers then have the opportunity to bid against each other for best pricing options for the customer. Once the process is completed, usually in less than 24 hours, Avion energy then presents the bidding results to the business to see if they would like to choose one of the best pricing options.

So as you can see the process is really very simple. It takes some time and energy to gather customers and build a book of business but I’m sure you can see the benefits. Think about the fact that most businesses sign multi year contracts with us and that means residual income for you for years to come.
